One of the pioneers in academic electronic commerce initiatives, Professor McCubbrey is currently focused on the Global Text Project where he is the co-project leader along with Professor Rick Watson of the University of Georgia. The Global Text Project is engaging the collective intelligence of worldwide communities of academics, students, and practitioners in the development of current, high-quality textbooks for students in developing economies where the cost of traditional textbooks is out of reach. The Internet is used to distribute books to students for free. More information on Global Text is available on the project website: http://globaltext.org.
